The Willacy County Emergency Services District (WCESD) is committed to protecting the lives, property, and safety of the residents and visitors of Willacy County. Through coordinated emergency response, strategic planning, and community partnerships, the district works to ensure reliable and effective emergency services throughout the region.
Established to support the growing needs of the community, the district provides oversight, funding, and coordination for essential emergency response services including fire protection, emergency medical response, and disaster preparedness.
The district operates with a focus on professionalism, transparency, and service to the public, ensuring that emergency responders have the resources necessary to respond quickly and effectively when our community needs them most.
Our History
The Willacy County Emergency Services District was formally organized on May 30, 1988, when the district held its first organizational meeting. This milestone marked the beginning of a coordinated effort to strengthen emergency response infrastructure and improve public safety services across the county.
The Charter Board Members who helped establish the district were:
